Big Shout-Out to Ward 3 Councilman Dennis Miller
Someone set out a refrigerator and a chest freezer, along with other trash, on Tuesday, at 132 East Walnut Street. The problem was that the trash picked up on Monday. To make matters worse, on Friday, the doors came open, allowing a foul smell to permeate the neighborhood.
Residents began to be concerned, because, as one resident said, aren’t they to remove the doors when placing that out in the street where kids could be playing? Although, I don’t think the kids will mess with this, it seems to be full of maggots.
Local resident, Deb Urban’s Facebook post made it clear how upset she was over the incident, but quickly praised Councilman Dennis Miller for his quick action in getting this taken care of. “Even being a holiday weekend, Councilman Miller was able to get the city to clean it up,” Commented Deb.
Councilman Dennis Miller, who was out of town for the day, said he was happy to be able to help and commended Shane Kremser and the Sanitation Department for their quick response in resolving the problem.
