Classes Return to Normal at Pioneer Career & Technology Center

Classes Return to Normal at Pioneer Career & Technology Center

Pioneer Career & Technology Center Superintendent Gregory D. Nickoli released a statement in an e-mail. “Yesterday, several students reported that they received an anonymous "air drop" during lunch today that referenced a threat to the school shortly after our dismissal time. The threat did not mention Pioneer directly.  After consulting with local law enforcement, our high school administration initiated several precautionary measures.  Additionally, the Ontario Police Department and the Richland County Sheriff's Office dispatched additional officers to our location to ensure student and staff safety during the afternoon and during dismissal. Dismissal proceeded at the end of the day without incident. An investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.”

Breaking News!

Pioneer Career & Technology Center has sent out the following message:

Pioneer CTC: Good afternoon. An anonymous “air dropped” message was sent during lunch today that made reference to a school shooting. Pioneer was NOT specifically mentioned in the message; however, we take all threats very seriously. We are working with local law enforcement officials at this time to ensure the safety of all students at Pioneer. Additional officers will be on campus through the end of the day.

Check back, I am working to get more information.
