Cost of college went up for all students at North Central State College

In-state tuition and fees rose 8.8 percent for 2018-19 at North Central State College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $3,998 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $407 more than the $3,591 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 100 percent more than residents this year, or $7,996. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 11.3 percent from $7,181 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents.

Data shows 90 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 266 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.3 million and 89 students took out student loans totaling more than $229,095.

Including all undergraduates (2,963), 1,178 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.7 million, and 617 students took out $1.9 million in federal student loans.
