State Representative Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) announced that Ohio’s tourism industry attracted more than 240 million visitors in 2024. This influx of visitors supported thousands of local businesses and attractions, resulting in over $57 billion in revenue, according to the Ohio Department of Development.
“As Chair of the Arts, Athletics, and Tourism Committee, I’m especially proud of Ohio’s tourism industry — an economic engine that supports local communities, small businesses, and jobs across our state,” said Miller.
Ohio offers a range of destinations for tourists, including national parks, historical monuments, restaurants, wineries, and museums. Among the highlighted attractions in Miller's district is the Mohican State Park Visitor Center in Hanover Township. The center opened earlier this month and is the first visitor center since the park was established in 1949. Additionally, the City of Ashland was recently recognized by Ohio Magazine as one of the top five places to live, work, and visit in the state.
TourismOhio, part of the Ohio Department of Development, continues efforts to promote Ohio as a destination for adventure and opportunity as well as a place to call home.
