Ashland Police Divisions SGT Name Used in Scam Calls

Ashland Police Division announced today on their Facebook page a new scam in the area, the post read as follows:

We have received reports that someone is calling area residents and introducing themselves as Officer Jonathon Kohler of the Ashland Police Department in regards to some "legal matters."  When the residents returned the call, a voicemail asks to leave a message with the "warrant division."

This is a scam and the message is not from the Ashland Police Division or Sergeant Kohler.  We will never call you to ask for money over the phone to clear a warrant issue.
