LEAVING NO LEAF UNTURNED (Video Highlights)
911 received a call about a suspicious person from a resident at The Meadows, on Pheasant Run Lane, right off Hillcrest drive. Two juveniles and an adult fled on foot, from Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper.
Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Ashland Police Division Officers, and other Ohio Highway Patrol Troopers responded, and set up perimeter, which resulted in the arrest of the two juveniles and one adult.
This morning, Officers, Troopers, and Deputies returned to the scene. Chief Lay of the Ashland Police Division commented, “Patrol units are canvassing the area in an attempt to recover any evidence that may have been missed overnight.”
Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team began to search the area from the air.
Police took an extra step, insuring the public’s safety, leaving no leaf unturned, as detectives monitor the leaf pick up, to make sure no evidence, such as a shotgun was hidden in the leaf pile.

Residents may have noticed a large police presence in the Hillcrest Drive/Pheasant Run area. We investigated a reported burglary overnight and the three suspects involved were all taken into custody. We are currently searching for evidence related to the incident. Specifically, there is believed to be a shotgun hidden in this area. The shotgun may be broken down into pieces. If a homeowner were to find a weapon, or any suspicious parts, do not touch it and contact our office immediately, at 419-289-1911 to report it.
We will continue to stay on scene until we have exhausted the resources at our disposal in an attempt to locate the firearm. We appreciate the cooperation of the residents in this area, as we work to locate the evidence.
