Troopers Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash on County Road 1302

Perry Township – Troopers are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred on County Road 1302, west of State Route 89 in Ashland County.

On Sunday, October 2, 2022 at approximately 1244 hours, a 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle was westbound on County Road 1302 when it went off the roadway to the right and struck a traffic sign prior to overturning and ejecting the driver.

The driver of the motorcycle, Ethan Michael Stadler, age 23, of Polk, Ohio was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Stadler was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.

County Road 1302 was closed for approximately 2 hours.

Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: Polk-Jackson Fire and EMS, the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and the Ashland County Coroner’s Office.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
