1200 Block of County Road 1153 Homicide

HOMICIDE SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11:19 a.m. the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the City of Ashland, Fire Department requesting for deputies to come to the 1200 block of County Road 1153.

Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy David Blake said in a press release that an older white male was found in the house in need of medical attention. According to Chief Deputy Blake his injuries were troubling to the paramedics and deputies. After searching the house and garage, Deputies found a younger white male deceased.

The Ashland County Coroner's Office, Ashland County Sheriff’s Detectives, and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to the scene. Sheriff’s Detectives were able to get a search warrant and processed the crime scene.

The Ashland County Coroner later identified the male as Jason R Gardner, age 39 of Ashland Ohio.  

The older white male, Stanley Gardner, 71, of Ashland who was found on the floor was transported to the UH Samaritan Medical Center.

Chief Deputy Blake confirmed that the case was submitted to the Ashland County Prosecutor Office for review and possible charges against Stanley Gardner.

Stanley Gardner who is listed as stable condition and remained under 24-hour guard until today.

Little over an hour ago Stanley Gardner was released from the Hospital and was promptly arrested and taken to the Ashland County Jail and being held on suspected Homicide till tomorrow when he is expected to be officially charged.
