State Representative Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) announced on May 11 that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has launched a new initiative, Moms.gov, which aims to provide guidance and resources supporting the health and well-being of mothers and families.
The launch of Moms.gov is intended to help women access information and services during pregnancy, motherhood, and beyond. The website offers support services such as pregnancy centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, nutritional guidance based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, mental health resources, breastfeeding information, adoption assistance, preconception health materials, Trump Accounts, Trump Rx programs, and additional resources for women and parents.
“Every mother deserves access to compassionate care, trusted resources, and the support she needs to help her family thrive. Moms.gov is an encouraging new tool that connects women with valuable information and services during pregnancy, motherhood, and beyond,” said Miller. “I applaud the Trump Administration for prioritizing this resource for families, and I’m grateful to see additional attention being given to maternal and infant health. I encourage Ohio families to explore these resources.”
After HHS officially announced the initiative on Mother’s Day this year, President Trump highlighted Moms.gov during a press conference held in the morning.
Miller has provided public service as a state representative for Ohio’s 67th House District covering Ashland and Medina counties; she also chairs various legislative committees including Arts, Athletics & Tourism Committee while serving on others related to health technology innovation as well as children’s services according to the official website. She holds a leadership role at a community health organization in addition to her involvement in local civic groups.
Looking ahead at broader implications of this announcement: The introduction of Moms.gov may offer expanded support options for mothers seeking reliable care or guidance throughout different stages of parenthood.
